INTERFAITH HARMONY WEEK

February 1-7, 2018

O Humankind, We created you from a single pair of a male and a female and made you into nations and tribes, so that you may know one another. Verily the most honored of you in the sight of God is the one who is the most righteous of you.               Quran 49:13

The Interfaith Peace Project is pleased to offer you a prayer reflection for each day of Interfaith Harmony Week.  The prayer traditions of the World encourage us to appreciate the oneness of our human family.  As the Nations are called to live in the neighborhood of the World, so we, as responsible individuals, are called to honor and respect one another.  It has been said that the prayer of any given community reveals the belief and practice of that Tradition.  The few prayers offered here give us a window into the expanse of the human spirit.

We encourage you to visit a worship site other than your own.  Delight in the wisdom you find there.  Visit as a friendly and concerned neighbor.  Exercise your right to love and respect the diversity of peoples.  Practice your responsibility to honor the wisdom of those you meet.

Since its inception, World Interfaith Harmony Week has inspired millions of peoples across the World to seek justice and peace through the great spiritual Traditions that bless humankind.  All of our spiritual Traditions offer us an opportunity to find the depths of our hearts as we quest to become more human and humane.

Please feel free to share with us your insights and reflections as you celebrated this blessed week.  Rediscover the wisdom of your own Tradition, seek the treasures of the differing Traditions, and rejoice in our common humanity as together we seek what is true, good, beautiful and just.

Peacefully,
