The Interfaith Peace Project welcomes Karen Oliver as author of our December Women’s Circle Reflection. Karen volunteers with our “O Street” Project, delivering food to our homeless friends.

Karen is sharing her original poem, “Thus Spake, Gaia’s Oracle” with us.

Gaia, in Greek mythology, is one of the primorial deities. She is the personification of the Earth, the ancestral mother of all life, the primal Mother Earth goddess.
Thus Spake
Gaia’s Oracle

my soul is magnified
by the dome of the sky and
my heart rejoices in the purity of nature.
for i have for-seen the coming of the
new moon as the herald
and legacy before me.
now generation unto generation will
sing the praises of the Mother Creator.
the one who holds the mighty waters at bay.
behold, She renews the face of the Earth at
even’ tide, in accord with the
coming of day.
my spirit sores on the wings of
Her making and i feel
humbled to remain a Steward and
Keeper of Her Ways.
