February 2013

Dear Friends,

The Board of Directors lovingly announces the dedication of our annual celebration of the International Day of Peace (September 21st) will be in honor of all the children who have suffered and continue to suffer violence in their lives. We especially remember the tragic events of December 14, 2012 at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, CT. We stand with the World Interfaith Community seeking practical means by which our children can claim the right to live in peace and harmony. We call upon all who practice compassion as a way of life to stand together in solidarity as we honor the child among and within us.

We remind you of the necessity to claim the dignity of the child you are. Before God, in the presence of the sacred, surrounded by the grandeur of the Universe, we are all children born with the right to live in dignity and peace.

We dedicate this year and all our programs to the children who have lost their lives to senseless violence. The children of the inner-city suffer terribly in a society of violence and indifference. We pledge to hear their cry as we advocate for programs fostering mental health, economic relief, good nutrition, and proper education.

We are establishing the Institute of Interfaith Children in cooperation with the diverse religious communities of the Greater Delta Area. We will become more and more attentive to the voices of our children whose insights and wisdom will bless us all.

Please remember these efforts in your thoughts and prayers. We welcome your ideas and reflections as we thank you for your efforts and care for the children of the world.

Peacefully,

Rev. Thomas P. Bonacci, C.P.
Executive Director for the
Board of Directors
